Firefox will now look like an almost pixel-perfect replica of Safari! See attached screenshot.

I've seen plenty of Safari style themes for Firefox, none of them look right, some come close but there's still something wrong about them. This is by far the best, by a million miles.

Honestly, this was one of the things that kept me from using Firefox. I always tried different Safari themes but they were never convincing. I think it has something to do with the fact that it's Firefox 3, because the same guy made these GrApple skins for FF2 and they're not nearly as convincing as these are.

He even has instructions for changing the RSS icon to match Safari's, so I did that as well. Other than that, the only noticeable difference is that the icon on the home button is different (maybe I'll edit it myself).

Oh, and I should mention that I found a better way to do the combined stop/reload button. Stylish doesn't work as well as I thought because it only hides the stop button when it's not needed, so when a page is loading you still have both buttons. Instead, get the Stop-or-Reload Button extension. It won't install on FF3 out of the box, but you can force it (see here, the comment by Atheos). Once installed it works fine.

Next up is Tab Mix Plus so I can force Firefox's tabs to be the same length as Safari's (there's a beta for FF3 but I tried it and it added three close buttons to every tab, so I think I'll wait for a final laugh.gif).

Once I get it perfect I think I'm going to dump Safari for Firefox. The interface and the speed of FF2 were the two main issues that kept me from using it.

FF3 on OS X uses native cocoa widgets.

Sorry to bump a year-and-a-half old thread laugh.gif

However, I just recently updated all of this to match Safari 4. With the help of this set of user styles, here's how my copy of Firefox looks (yes, Firefox, not Safari):

Wow. That's indistinguishable from the original.
