Rules & Guidelines
General Rules & Guidelines
1. Be polite and respectful of others.
Do not insult or harass other members. These forums are a place to freely exchange thoughts, ideas, and opinions in an intelligent and adult manner. Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
2. Keep your posts clean.
Avoid SCREAMING, scolding, or foul language in your posts.
3. Use discretion when posting website links or images.
No posting links to websites or posting of images that are *ual or graphic in nature. Administrators reserve the right to remove any website link or image posted by a member.
4. Listen to administrators.
If an administrator has given you a warning or told you to quit doing something, listen. Do not ignore them.
5. Don't take matters into your own hands.
If you feel insulted by another member's remarks in a post or topic, use the "Report This Post" link to notify an administrator and we will handle it accordingly.
6. Do not start any derogatory topics about members (including administrators or owners of MacvsWindows).
7. Do not start any derogatory threads about MacvsWindows or its community.
Feedback regarding our website is encouraged. However, topics that exist to solely to insult MacvsWindows or its community will not be tolerated.
8. Do NOT SPAM.
Do not start any topics aimed at advertising products. Same goes for posts. While you are allowed to include a link to your website or blog (if you have one), you are not allowed to advertise any of your products or content (unless given permission by our administrators).
9. Check your zealotry at door before you come in. Again, these forums are a place to freely exchange thoughts, ideas, and opinions in an intelligent and adult manner. Just because another member might use a different operating system or piece of software than you doesn't mean they are "wrong".
10. Do not flame. Posts intended to anger or "get a rise" from other members will not be tolerated.
Warnings
Our discussion board uses a warning system for moderating members who choose to break any of the above rules/guidelines.
When you first sign up, your warning level is set to zero. Each time an administrator gives you a warning, your level will increase by one. If the amount of warnings you receive exceed three, your account is suspended for 13 days. You will be unable to participate in any of the forums topics.
After 13 days, your suspension will be lifted and your account moved into "On Probation" status. While you will be able to start topics and make posts in forums, any additional warnings received while your account is in "On Probation" will be grounds for permanent banning from the MacvsWindows discussion board.
When administrators feel your behavior has been adequate and you can be trusted to not causes any further disruption in our forums, your account will be moved back into normal "Member" status and warning level reset.
If you disagree with a warning or suspension, contact an administrator and discuss it with them. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding.
Note: If you have a MacvsWindows wiki account and are suspended/banned from our discussion forums, your status will be reflected on the wiki as well. While we believe in being fair and giving everyone a second chance, administrators reserve the right to permanently ban anyone on our discussion board or wiki who refuses to follow our rules and cause trouble for our other members.
If you have any questions, be sure to contact an administrator for further help.
